As President of The Democracy Lab Foundation (DemoLab) and BLISS Summit, Nia leads pro-democracy education and civic tech initiatives across Costa Rica and Latin America. She has played a pivotal role in developing the DemoLab Freedom Curriculum, which highlights the stories of Latin American human rights advocates to raise awareness about democratic backsliding and empower individuals to drive change. Nia also spearheads the Freedom Academy, engaging young people through sports, art, and technology to promote civic education and the values of freedom.

Drawing from her extensive experience in the private sector—including private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and executive search—Nia blends business acumen with her passion for strategic leadership, communications, and program management. Her previous work in sustainable development and educational charities further underscores her commitment to social impact.

A graduate of the University of Birmingham with a BA in International Relations, Nia is dedicated to empowering citizens and advancing liberty and democracy throughout the region.
