According to Latinobarómetro, support for democracy has dropped from 67% in 2020 to 56% in 2023, while support for authoritarianism has risen. Young people, in particular, are becoming increasingly disengaged, with only 46% of those aged 16-25 across Latin America expressing a preference for democracy. This growing indifference threatens the future of democracy in Costa Rica, making it more vulnerable to authoritarian tendencies.

Solution

The Freedom Academy program addresses this crisis by educating and empowering 15,000 citizens over the next 24 months with our innovative Freedom Curriculum.
